Kaplan mostly focuses on test taking strategies. If your "random asian tutoring place" is Elite Education Institute then I would heartily recommend it as Elite is a content based program designed to improve the scores of students who are already doing well in school and want an extra boost. I would also suggest that the lists of the "best" schools are generally based on nothing but the number of students each school rejects and that your college education is far more dependent upon your efforts than on the school you attend.
