How do I avoid buying an iguana with salmonella?

Don't buy an iguana, unless you have the $ and time to give it the proper environment. They have lots of requirements that most folks, (including pet stores) ignore. Just to prepare their "special" and expensive diet takes up to 20 minutes a day. I rescued one and took care of it for 4 years. It grew to 6 feet. The required habitat to allow him room cost me over 400.00 and took two people three weeks to build. I would not recommend this type of pet.
