I did a weeks amount of working out to my own workout regimen but...?

The weight will start to come off. It is as simple as burning more calories than you eat. Don't starve yourself, as your body will act defensively to store fat. Just east a diet with slightly reduced calories, drink plenty of water, and keep at it. Make your workout a bit harder as you get into better shape. Some light weight lifting will help you as well. The more muscle your body has, the more calories it burns in a day. Also, try to watch your stress levels. The more stressed you are, the more you are likely to retain body fat. Try to relax a bit. Yoga might be good fit for you.
