Question about my kitten being mauled?

My cat was killed today. She is an outside cat by day. Today a little girl from across the street who is around 10 or so took my 6 month old kitten into her backyard and was jumpimg on her trampoline wih my cat. While jumping she threw my cat into their dog run. My kitten was ripped to shreds. This little girl has been told twice to leave my cat alone. Her dad came over to tell me what had happened and just kept telling me he didnt know what to say. I'm sorry sure would have been a start. I got my kitten Scribbles when she was 3 weeks old after being abandoned by her mother. I bottle fed her and had all of her shots and feline bloodwork done on her. She had just gotten fixed last month. I loved that cat with all of my heart and it's not cheap to be a responsible pet owner. I live in Texas and am wondering if there is anything I can legally do about this.
