Is "self-correction" grammatically correct here?

In 1998, when many countries, especially Malaysia, experienced a prolonged economic crisis resulting in multidimensional crisis (especially in political areas) Indonesia performed a self-correction on the political system (the Executive, Legislative and Judicial government) known as the "Reform Movement."
